Chris Odom, founder of Stash, spoke to a group of BItcoin investors in November. His advice was to look forward when building Bitcoin business models. For example, he cautioned that analytics based on the current bitcoin protocols will be passe before they come to market because several user features, including deeper privacy and less cumbersome payment protocols, will render the current analytic models obsolete. Think farther ahead, with imagination. I liken it to letting my inner Scalia, the “what-if” machine, take over.
For me, the most telling part comes after minute 20. Odom discusses how cryptographic law will take over the spaces where it can and distinguishes execution of cryptographic law and human law. He asks “are there any lawyers in the room?”
Crickets, then cheers. Ouch.
